Machine building complex takes the leading role among other sectors of industry.
LLC KZ Rostselmash (agriculture machine building) is currently the largest producer of agriculture machinery in CIS. Its products are shipped to more than 20 countries of the world. The product line of LLC KZ Rostselmash is represented by grain harvesters “TORUM” (rotor, class 6), “ACROS-530” (class 5), “Vector 410” (class 4), Niva-Effekt (class 3), forage harvesters “Don-680M”, “RSM-1401”, self-propelled mower (Energosredstvo ES-1), “Versatile” tractors (assembled production of Canadian brand), sprayers and mowers “Versatile”.
The leader of power engineering industry, branch of CJSC AEM-technologii Atommash in Volgodonsk was going through the process of integration in the group of companies OJSC Atomenergomash and Rosatom during 2012- 2013. Currently the company is launching production of machinery for nuclear and gas and petrochemical sectors. The company fills orders for the Rostov, Novovoronezh and Leningrad nuclear power stations. It also produces equipment for enterprises, included in group of companies Rosatom.
Taganrog boiler building plant OJSC “Krasny Kotelshchik” (included in OJSC EMAlians) manufacturers pipelines for Berezovsk regional power station, spare parts for Syrdaryansk thermal electric power station and Kursk nuclear power plant, produces high-pressure heaters PVD-375 for Sevkazenergo (Kazahstan), equipment for Berezovsk regional power station, junctions for waste-heat boiler for Perm hydro-electric power station, equipment for modernization of Lugansk heat power station (Ukraine).
In order to remain competitive in the market of power plant engineering the company is modernizing production facilities and applying new energy efficient technologies. The objective of the company is to apply domestic technology of boiler production which operate on circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology. The company is developing pilot CFB unit. Within 3 years engineering centre of the company in cooperation with profile institutions will develop the project for a boiler with ultra supercritical steam parameters (USSP). Implementation of such project will allow to turn to production and construction of power units of new generation with USSP, which will operate with high energy efficiency and decreased emissions into the environment.
The tendency in transportation machine building is set by electric locomotives producer LLC PK NEVZ, which is part of CJSC Transmashholding, which unites producers of rolling stock for railways of Russia.
The company is implementing the program for technical remodeling and modernization if locomotives of Russian Railways. Since 2003 the plant has developed and put into series production 11 new electric locomotives, including drag unit NP1, industrial electric locomotive NPM2 with asynchronous motor drive, the first russian dual-system electric passenger locomotive EP1, electric freight locomotive 2EC5K “Ermak”, first russian electric freight locomotive of continuous current 2 ES4K “Donchak”.
In March 2013 the Government of the Rostov region, MTE Group and KOVOSVIT MAS (Czech Republic) signed a set of agreements on the establishment of cluster of machine-building technologies with the core enterprise LLC MTE KOVOSVIT MAS. The residents of the park have already become PEGAS-GONDA (Czech Republic), LLC Savelovsky machine building plant (SMZ), research and development enterprise “Machinery and flexible automatic systems” (Russia) and OJSC Donpressmash (Russia). In November 2013 official opening ceremony of machine-tool plant MTE KOVOSVIT MAS took place in Azov, the Rostov region.
In order to support operation of the cluster productive cooperation with technical universities of the region is developed. Training centers will be organized at enterprises to train students of machine building specialties.
In September 2013 the Government of the Rostov region and Vnesheconombank have signed agreement on the support of machine-building cluster project. The total project value – 2,3 bln. rubles with over 300 highly qualified new jobs created. Standard volume of production after reaching full production capacity is no less than 340 machine-tool units per year. The project will be localized by 90% by 2018. In the result of the project full cycle machine-tool plant, design bureau and engineering center will be built.
